I love finding unusual and curious images of the Seder table and Pesach in General. I hunt through old Hagadot looking for images. that are authentic and interesting. I find the old is often really quite modern. i came across this wonderful image Russian-Jewish Folk Art Painting, from the19Th Century. I love the details, it is almost a social commentary the men sitting the woman bringing in the food. The vibrant palette details the finer points , the luxurious hats the people are wearing the items including Matzah on the table the cloth are clearly finery. Even the drapes and chandeliers are well painted. One can almost hear what the people are saying. It is so reassuring to see that for hundreds of years we the Jewish people are celebrating the same festivals in the same ways at the four corners of the world. I love the idea that the focus of our Seder table is the Matzah cover doing exactly what we are doing sitting around the Seder table.
