5 Ways to prepare for Rosh Hashana.

5 Ways to prepare for Rosh Hashana.

Beyond preparations for the meals, Rosh Hashana is an opportunity to reset relationships and perhaps even life. And even more so during these Covid times.

No 1. Relationships perhaps a time to make the awkward calls to people you know could do with a call and a “how are you?”, perhaps a time to make up with friends or family you have fallen out with.

No 2. A time to think about the last year, high lights, low points. Thoughts about people that have passed this last year. Gratitude for what we have, acceptance of what there is. Perhaps a time to question what have you learnt to gained this last year. A time to think of the future and a time for plans, and questions about where you want to be in a year’s time.

No 3. What do you really want to do for Rosh Hashana? Who do you want to spend time with? Who do you want to invite? Where do you really want to go? Will you do things differently this year, with different people or not?

No 4. How will you prepare your table? How will you decorate and beautify the table and enhance the chag. How will you create joy for those attending.

No 5 How will you prepare for the meals? What dishes will you cook, when and where will you shop? What’s the menu for the various meals? Will you have a Seder Rosh Hashana?
